Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position requiring 2 years of recent Cath Lab experience, ACLS and BLS certifications.

Responsibilities

Hospital Cath Lab unit specializing in diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures

Day shift with three 12-hour shifts per week (7 : 00 AM - 6 : 58 PM)

Float to other units is required as needed

Call required : 3 weekend 24-hour shifts per month and 1 weeknight on-call per week

Patient care includes adult patients undergoing cardiac and vascular procedures

Procedures performed include diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, pacemaker / defibrillator lead extraction, cardiac ablation, angiography, angioplasty, and more

Assist with cardiac and vascular diagnostic and interventional procedures, patient pre- and post-procedure care, and emergency interventions

Team-oriented work environment with support from Cath Lab staff and physicians

Mandatory completion of training modules, both pre-start and during orientation

Strict infection prevention and isolation protocols must be followed

Radiation and laser safety awareness is required

Holiday coverage and floating expectations may apply based on unit needs

Return staff must have at least 1 year since prior employment before eligibility as a traveler

Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted

Requirements

Active RN license (MD or compact state)

Minimum 2 years of recent Cath Lab RN experience

Current ACLS and BLS certifications

Proficiency in diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab procedures

Experience with IABP placement / removal, cardiac mapping, sedation administration and monitoring, and cardiac medications

Ability to interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias

Two professional supervisor references from within the last two years required
