Field Service Engineer

Overview

Position Description : Field Service Engineer II (PITCO) supporting upgrading and testing of the video management system (VMS) at U.S. Army installations worldwide. Works with a team to install, configure, test, and troubleshoot VMS, CCTV, desktop computing systems, peripherals, cabling, and rack-mounted equipment. Collaborates with Engineers, Project Leads, and Project Engineers to ensure successful PITCO testing and VMS readiness.

Responsibilities

• Review documents in ServiceNow
• Apply asset tags to hardware
• Coordinate with warehouse personnel to transfer equipment to / from PITCO
• Update asset management database
• Configure hardware and stage, power up, and interconnect components
• Install software images and apply settings
• Analyze and resolve technical issues related to VMS end points
• Monitor hardware burn-in
• Complete test plans and checklists
• Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills with hardware, software VMS, and network devices
• Repack hardware and palletize for shipping
• Create transfer orders in asset management database
• Provide progress reports on PITCO testing
• Understand termination of Cat 5e / 6 using T568B color code standard
• Contribute to research and development activities as needed, including constructing experimental models and reporting findings
• Perform basic administrative tasks (daily status reports, close-out documents, timekeeping)
• Other duties may be assigned

Pay : In compliance with state and local laws regarding pay transparency, the hourly range for this role is $67,889 to $113,149. Serco considers several factors when offering compensation, including role responsibilities, experience, education / training, and key skills.
