We are seeking a highly skilled and driven Preconstruction Manager to lead preconstruction activities across a diverse range of commercial projects. The ideal candidate will bring extensive estimating expertise, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously. This individual will play a key role in setting projects up for success by ensuring accurate budgets, competitive pricing, and professional client-facing proposals.
- Lead and manage all preconstruction activities from project inception to handoff.
- Prepare detailed estimates, budgets, and cost analyses for projects up to $50M.
- Develop subcontractor and supplier relationships; solicit and evaluate pricing proposals.
- Create, review, and present professional proposal packages for clients.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless transition from preconstruction to operations.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy.
- Monitor market trends, pricing, and industry developments to maintain competitive advantage.
About the candidate
5–10 years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, or related roles within the commercial construction industry.Proven ability to independently manage multiple projects of varying size and complexity.Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and cost structures.Experience across diverse sectors including retail, storage, multi-family, warehouse & distribution, federal / military, hospitality, and commercial projects.Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with construction management platforms preferred.Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
