Description

The Children's Ministry Leader provides leadership to ensure the effective integration of policies, procedures, training, and events across all campus locations. This role exists to equip volunteers and staff, foster ministry alignment, and help children grow to become devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

Personal Responsibilities

  • Be committed to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3 : 18; 1 Peter 2 : 2) by assembling for instruction in God's Word and engaging in the personal study of God's Word.
  • Responsibly use the resources at your disposal to foster the mission and vision of Abundant Life (1 Peter 5 : 1-4).
  • Participate in an Abundant Life group (Acts 2 : 41-42) as well as the discipleship ministry (Matthew 28 : 18-20).
  • Live in a way that glorifies God and aligns with the staff core values (1 Timothy 3 : 1-7, Titus 1 : 5-9).
  • Be committed to giving to the needs of the saints (2 Corinthians 8 : 1-7 & 9 : 12).
  • Become a member of Abundant Life.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a framework for children's ministry policies and procedures across campuses.
  • Equip, inspire, recruit, train, and deploy volunteers across all campus locations and areas of Children's Ministry
  • Oversee training for both staff and volunteers across locations.
  • Partner with campus teams to plan and execute special events (e.g., Kids Week, volunteer appreciation).
  • Maintain and steward the Central Children's Ministry budget.
  • Regularly travel to campus locations on Sunday mornings and to special events to ensure alignment across campuses.
  • Cultivate a unified relationship between Central Services and all campus locations.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve ministry operations and workflows.
  • Collaborate with the Central Children's Director to align Children's Ministry with the mission and ministries of the church.
  • Offer leadership for all mile marker classes and celebrations within the ministry.
  • Manage and purchase ministry-related supplies and resources as needed.
  • Practice discretion and confidentiality in the dissemination of information.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned in alignment with the mission of making disciples and serving families well.

    Skills and Qualifications

  • Spiritually mature, highly motivated, and mission-driven leader with a love for children.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to lead with clarity and purpose.
  • Relational, collaborative, and able to engage well with children, parents, volunteers, and staff.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other administrative tools.
  • Clear passion for equipping the next generation to be lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ.

    • Education / Experience

  • 2 years' experience in Children's Ministry is preferred.
