Responsibilities
- Provide best-in-class guest service : greet guests, respond to questions / concerns quickly and courteously, assist with gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, and promote guest loyalty and repeat business.
- Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales.
- Process guest purchases and returns accurately using the POS system; ensure top-notch guest service during transactions.
- Respond to guest comments or questions in person or by phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate.
- Promote GameStop\'s guest benefits, such as title reservations, trade-in, and Pro Rewards programs.
- Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates in company policies and procedures.
- Observe associate performance and provide feedback; ensure alignment with customer service expectations.
- Provide recognition and feedback to store associates and document performance in the HR system as required.
- Ensure onboarding, training, and compliance for associates prior to opening / closing shifts; knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethics.
- Schedule associates to follow guidelines, manage breaks, and maintain optimum guest service levels.
- Approve payroll, manage time off, and verify pay for time worked.
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure equipment is in working order.
- Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily.
- Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at closing as appropriate and report concerns to the Store Manager.
- Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties.
- Perform inventory counts, restock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized on the sales floor.
- Count and reconcile daily transaction totals; complete closeout paperwork and ensure sufficient cash is available for transactions.
- Verify shipments for discrepancies, conduct inventories, and report issues to management.
- Process defectives / recalls and stock pulls accurately with proper labeling and packing lists.
- Maintain associate and guest safety; report injuries per guidelines.
- Maintain store records and ensure manuals are up to date.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Adhere to all company policies and the Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct; follow opening and closing procedures.
Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.Must be at least 18 years old.High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and / or management experience preferred.Video game knowledge preferred.Key Skills and Abilities
Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills.Ability to provide genuine and individualized guest assistance.Clear verbal and written communication; English proficiency; bilingual English / Spanish preferred.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet objectives.Ability to work independently and as part of a team; manage time effectively.Reliability, trustworthiness, and good judgment.Ability to operate POS system; basic math and alphabetizing skills.Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days / week availability.Ability to work under pressure and solve problems creatively.Ability to stand and move around the store for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.Benefits

Compensation
