Job Summary

The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a certified paraprofessional responsible for the direct implementation of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The RBT works under the close, ongoing supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to deliver individualized therapy sessions and ensure consistent, high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct Therapy Implementation : Provide one-on-one ABA therapy to clients, implementing skill acquisition and behavior reduction plans developed by the BCBA.
  • Skill Building : Help clients build essential skills in communication, social interaction, play, and daily living.
  • Data Collection & Documentation : Accurately collect and record session data using electronic tools (e.g., CentralReach) to track client progress and treatment effectiveness. Maintain program books and develop teaching materials.
  • Team Collaboration : Participate in clinical team meetings and receive weekly supervision and clinical feedback from the BCBA.
  • Caregiver Communication : Communicate client progress, questions, and observations effectively to the BCBA, parents, and caregivers.
  • Client Safety & Basic Care : Ensure client safety and a positive therapeutic environment at all times. Provide basic care (e.g., toileting, eating) as needed.
  • Travel : Provide in-home and / or community-based services to clients, requiring reliable transportation and comfort with traveling between client locations within a 20-mile radius.

Qualifications

  • Certification : Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification is preferred, or willingness to complete company-sponsored training to earn the credential.
  • Experience : Prior experience working with children, especially those with ASD, is strongly preferred.
  • Physical Ability : Must be physically able to perform all job duties, including kneeling, bending, lifting up to 40 lbs., and actively moving with children for the duration of a session.
  • Logistics : Must possess reliable transportation and auto insurance to meet travel requirements.
