About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift : 12

Experience : Minimum 2 years of RN Operating Room experience required. Level 2 Trauma experience required. Proficient in Ortho, Vascular, Neuro, General / Gynecological, and Urology procedures required. Recent travel experience highly preferred.

License : State License required, specific to the location.

Certifications : BLS (AHA) certification required.

Must-Have :

• Minimum of 2 years of RN Operating Room experience.
• Level 2 Trauma Experience.
• Proficient in Ortho, Vascular, Neuro, General / Gynecological, and Urology procedures.

Description :

This position is responsible for assessing the needs of each patient before and during a surgical procedure.

Maintains patient safety throughout the surgical process.

The RN outlines individual care plans, implements evaluations, and documents care of the patient during surgical procedures.

Provides leadership to the surgical team.

Communicates effectively with the patient, family, surgical team, supervisor, manager, and ancillary departments.

Participates in staff development through preceptorship and continuing education.

Assesses the needs of the surgical patient and develops a plan of care specific to that patient.

Implements and evaluates the plan of care during the procedure and makes necessary adjustments, prioritizing patient safety.

Supervises activity in the operating room.

Anticipates and coordinates any schedule changes for the room.

Assembles equipment and supplies as required.

Assists anesthesia as necessary.

Monitors the sterile field throughout the procedure.

Maintains communication with the patient, family, physician, surgical team, supervisor / manager, and ancillary departments.

Participates in staff development by attending in-services, educational meetings, staff meetings, and other seminars for educational opportunities as well as leadership and growth opportunities.
