Mainframe Engineer

A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a

Mainframe Engineer position.

Position type : Fulltime Contract

Duration : 6 months

Location : Minneapolis, MN(Hybrid)

Job Description :

This role involves full-cycle software development-requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment-focused on maintaining and enhancing legacy systems while integrating with modern technologies.

You will apply your programming expertise to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to triage and resolve operational issues are essential. This position includes rotating on-call support to ensure 24x7 application availability.

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years in software development
• Proficient in COBOL, JCL, DB2, z / OS
• Experience with CICS, VSAM, MQ, and batch processing
• Familiarity with modern integration tools (Kafka, APIs)
• Strong documentation and Agile communication skills
• Experience in decommissioning mainframe components

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS :

Pay Range : $55- $60 / per hour

Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
