Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with acute care and trauma experience for a day shift position in a high-volume surgical environment.
Responsibilities
Work in the Operating Room of a short-term acute care hospitalLevel II Trauma Center handling complex, high acuity cases across 19-20 OR rooms dailyPatient ratio is 1 : 1 for circulating RNsCommon cases include ortho (including total joints), neuro (including craniotomies), general / vascular, gynecology / urology, and roboticsProcedures involve use of three Xi robots and specialized equipment such as Doppler, ultrasound, Neptune, Aquamantis, video systems, lasers, stapling systems, Hana and Jackson tablesScheduled for 4x10 day shifts, 6 : 45am to 5 : 15pmOn-call is required, up to four 8-hour call shifts every four weeksWeekend schedule to be determinedUses Epic EMR; experience requiredScrubs provided in the ORPerform perioperative RN duties including circulating and scrubbing on major casesThe OR handles 50-60 cases per day in a team-oriented, fast-paced settingRobot team is pursuing designation as a Robotic Center of ExcellenceOrientation for the unit is held bi-weekly on MondaysNo float to other units is required except in rare circumstances to meet facility needsFree parking on siteFirst-time travelers are not accepted for this assignmentNo limitations for requested time off; all requests reviewed individuallyRequirements
Active RN license; pending license with proof of application acceptedMinimum 2 years of recent OR circulating experience in acute care required, 3 years preferredLevel I or II trauma experience requiredExperience circulating and scrubbing major cases preferred1 year of Epic EMR experience requiredCurrent BLS certification required, ACLS preferredExperience in high acuity ortho and neuro cases requiredLocals within 60 miles not acceptedReturn staff must have at least one year separation from the health systemMust be fully vaccinated against COVID-19Benefits
