Position Summary
The Telecommunications Operator processes high call volumes for both patient and internal departments. Responsibilities include outstanding customer service, need for moderate typing skills, ability to process codes and trauma calls quickly, processing Engineering and Clinical Engineering work requests, and paging the necessary technicians.

Essential Functions
Answer and process a high volume of calls accurately, professionally and with a positive attitudeProcess codes and trauma calls quickly and accuratelyMonitor alarm systems to notify appropriate personnel when an active alarm is receivedTransfer callers to correct room, department or individual with a warm handoffOperate specialized computer systems / consoles to facilitate rapid processing of messages, work orders and service requestsRead, interpret and follow processes, policies and procedures and related documentsDispatch appropriate personnel by radio or paging systemDeliver pages to physicians, on-call personnel and other Orlando Health employees as neededFamiliar with HICS and able to function during emergency situationsInitiate overhead pages accurately and professionallyMaintain flexibility in work schedule to meet 24 / 7 department needs, including weekends and nightsMaintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance per Orlando Health policies and applicable lawsMaintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and proceduresOther Related Functions
