Baker College of Port Huron is seeking to fill an Adjunct Faculty in Com to join our team!

A Master's degree in English, literature, composition, rhetoric, writing, or a related subfield (journalism or MFA in creative writing) is required, or any Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in English, literature, composition, rhetoric, writing, or written communications. A Doctorate degree is preferred. The ideal candidate will have experience working in higher education, particularly in teaching and curriculum design. Proficiency with learning management systems, especially Canvas, as well as Microsoft Office Suite, Google Apps, video conferencing tools, and general internet use, is essential. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are also required.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to inspire and engage students by delivering courses in alignment with the Faculty Workload Policy and the Baker College Learning Model. You'll bring creativity and innovation to the classroom, leveraging cutting-edge learning technologies to help students achieve their academic goals. Your passion for teaching may also extend into shaping the curriculum by suggesting enhancements as part of our continuous improvement efforts. You'll actively assess student learning, provide meaningful feedback, and support their progress. Additionally, you will contribute to the academic community through the Faculty Growth and Evaluation Process. You may also participate in committees, projects, initiatives, and opportunities that drive education excellence and support your professional development.
