Med / Surg Telemetry RN Job Details Location : Charleston, WV 25304 (West Virginia nursing jobs) Facility : Major teaching hospital, Level IV Trauma Center Unit : 4 West - Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit Assignment Length : 13 weeks (91 days) Start Date : October 30, 2025 End Date : January 29, 2026 Shifts : 3x12 or 4x12 hour day shifts (7 : 00 AM - 7 : 00 PM) Hours per Week : 36 hours guaranteed Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend Orientation : 16 hours (every other Thursday) Patient Ratio : 1 : 5 typical, may flex to 1 : 6 / 7 Scrub Color : Royal Blue / White (RN) Charting System : Cerner EMR Parking : Free for travel nurses Estimated Weekly Salary : $1680-$1730 Med / Surg Telemetry RN Qualifications Active West Virginia or Compact RN License (pending license accepted) Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a hospital setting At least 1 year of recent Med / Surg Telemetry nursing experience BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association required) Experience with post-cardiac cath, post-angiogram, and PTCA patients Proficiency with cardiac drips : heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, dopamine, nitroglycerin Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias Willingness to float to similar units as needed Flu vaccine required during flu season (medical exemptions accepted) COVID-19 vaccine not required Must reside at least 100 miles from facility (75-99 miles considered upon approval) Strong teamwork and positive attitude Med / Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced Med / Surg Telemetry unit Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage cardiac drips, and respond to acute cardiac events Care for patients with acute MI, unstable angina, CHF, arrhythmias, CVA, and post-surgical needs Support observation unit with high patient turnover (average stay 36 hours or less) Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, and rapid response Float to similar medical-surgical or telemetry units as needed Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner EMR Participate in orientation and complete required modules prior to start date Ready to take the next step in your nursing career?
