Overview

Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant for the Urology Department within New Jersey Medical School. Under the direction of the Division Chief and Urology Faculty, the role is responsible for the independent conduct of a significant element of research projects, including assistance in study design, IRB submission, data analysis and grant submission.

Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) takes an integrated approach to education, clinical care, and research. RBHS includes eight schools, a behavioral health network, and five centers focused on cancer treatment, neuroscience, biotechnology and medicine, environmental and occupational health, and health care policy and aging research. Our faculty are teachers, clinicians, and scientists who advance medical innovation and provide patient care informed by the latest research findings.

Responsibilities

  • Performs various research independently or as assigned, relating to investigatory studies of the Urology Division, followed by appropriate reports, recommendations and conclusions.
  • Participates in drafting clinical studies, including defining goals and objectives, milestones for completion, and developing budgets for support.
  • Assists in drafting Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions, with statistical support and addressing modifications requested by the IRB.
  • Assists in statistical data analysis for research abstracts and manuscript presentations.
  • Assists in grant development, grant drafting, statistics, and submission. Understands and adheres to Rutgers' compliance standards as outlined in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct, and Conflict of Interest Policy.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Ph.D. or Master's Degree or equivalent in relevant science plus two (2) years of related research experience.

    FLSA : Nonexempt

    Grade : 99H

    Compensation : A minimum of $35.00 per hour; additional salary details may apply per candidate qualifications and grant funds.

    Position Status : Part Time; Working Hours : 2 hours per week (0.05 FTE)
