Position Summary

The Payroll Service Bureau Tax Specialist will oversee payroll tax operations for multiple clients. This includes ensuring accurate and timely tax filings, managing agency correspondence, and maintaining compliance across all jurisdictions. This is a high-impact role suited for an experienced tax professional who thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Manage federal, state, and local payroll tax filings and payments

Complete quarterly and annual filings (941, 940, W-2, W-3, etc.)

Reconcile payroll tax liabilities and resolve discrepancies

Respond to and resolve tax agency notices

Maintain accurate Power of Attorney and SUI registrations

Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and updates

Collaborate with internal teams and contribute to process improvements

Assist in mentoring junior tax staff as needed

Qualifications

3–4 years of experience in payroll tax, compliance, or related field

Experience with enterprise payroll tax software (iSolved preferred)

Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations

Intermediate to advanced Excel skills

High attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

CPP certification is a plus or in progress
