Summary

Diagnose and treat oral health issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Examine Issues - examine teeth, gums, and related facial structures as well as X-rays to diagnose problems.

Treat Dental Issues - perform procedures to remove decay, fill cavities, repair or remove damaged teeth as well perform root canals, crowns, bridges, and dental implants.

Prescribe Medications – prescribe antibiotics or other medications to treat dental issues.

Advise Patients – teach patients about dental care, including diet, flossing, fluoride use, and preventative care techniques.

Make Dental Appliances – make or fit dental appliances.

Keep accurate records of patients’ dental structure.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The dentist will be responsible for supervision of the dental hygienists and dental assistants.

Need to Know Access

The dentist has access to any paper files that relate to the dental care of the agency patients. She / he has access to the agency dental electronic health records. She / he will have access to the shared network .

Education and / or Experience

Must have a degree in dental surgery or dental medicine. Minimum 2 years work experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business documents and correspondence. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

An unincumbered license in the State of Florida.
