This position is primarily responsible for the daily operations of warehousing functions including receiving, shipping, and freight activities. Responsibilities :
- Responsible for, training, and coaching warehouse employees to develop a positive, cohesive team atmosphere.
- Promote strong relationships with other departments, specifically manufacturing and customer service, leading to increased internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Analyze and plan effective use of warehouse space and stocking locations to increase picking efficiencies and improved inventory accuracy.
- Coordinate and schedule daily freight activities related to outbound customer shipments, as well as inbound freight for selective suppliers.
- Create and train personnel on bill of ladings, freight claims, and other documentation following Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) guidelines.
- Comply with import and export trade compliance guidelines as established and train associates to such guidelines.
- Develop and document departmental procedures in accordance with ISO 9001 : 2008 guidelines.
- Create an environment that empowers employees to want to succeed and instills a sense of urgency applicable to servicing internal and external customers.
- Support 5S methodologies, lean initiatives, kaizen events, and kanban inventories leading to improved efficiencies, increased inventory turnover, and reduced costs.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate departmental metrics related to on-time shipments, inventory accuracy, inventory turnover, and freight costs.
Associate's degree [A. A.] from a two-year College or Technical school; or 3-5 years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Manufacturing software; Inventory software; Order Processing systems; Spreadsheet software, Word Processing software, and experience with ERP software. Experience in Lean Manufacturing, ISO, and 5S a plus. Knowledge of Microsoft AX ideal.
