Summary
Lead E&I engineering for a large industrial mill : deliver capital / major repair projects, provide day-to-day technical support, and serve as the Utilities power-systems SME.
Key Responsibilities
Champion safety / environmental compliance.
Front-end studies, estimates, scope, schedule, and cost forecasts for multiple projects.
Manage design, specs, procurement, contractor oversight, installation, commissioning, and turnover.
Troubleshoot plant E&I issues; maintain capital assets and engineering documentation.
Provide power-systems expertise : turbine generators / auxiliaries, excitation, 13.8 kV distribution, SEL & electromechanical relays, buses / breakers, transmission lines, arc-flash analysis, LV / MV distribution, AC / DC drives, PLC / DCS, and process instrumentation.
Produce / review P&IDs, loop diagrams, interconnections, PLC / DCS I / O, power plans, single-line diagrams.
Mentor junior engineers; ensure codes / standards compliance; lead cross-functional teams.
Support contracts (with Legal / Purchasing) and capital / expense / IRR justifications (with Finance).
Qualifications
10+ years in heavy industry (pulp & paper, power generation, or similar).
BS in Electrical Engineering or EET; PE and / or PMP a plus ; NFPA 70E training.
Proficiency with MS Office / MS Project; SAP Project Systems a plus; intermediate AutoCAD.
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills; proven documentation skills.
