The Certified Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support to assist the health care professional in ensuring the delivery of quality health services. Ensures optimal patient outcomes by providing patient care activities for the patient.
Compensation : $22-25 per hour
Location : Barrington, IL 60010
Schedule : Full-Time, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Receive and direct phone calls, schedule appointments, check-in patients, obtain & file necessary patient information, update patient records, and ensure all forms and consents are completed by patients.
- Obtaining and recording patient medical histories, vitals, test results, and other information for medical records while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Prepare equipment and examination rooms, and clean instruments.
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and equip exam rooms with appropriate supplies.
- Preparing, ordering, and administering medications for patients under the direction and supervision of physicians.
- Preparing treatment rooms for clinical examinations and assisting practitioners with medical procedures and other patient care.
- Assist in the transfer of patients pre and post procedures.
- Delivering compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
- Ensuring compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
- Completes annual mandatory training by the due date as assigned.
- Other duties and / or responsibilities as assigned
Desired Qualifications :
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required .One year of related experience and / or training required .Medical Assistant Certification preferred .Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care according to individual needs.Must demonstrate an understanding of clinical risk.Must demonstrate consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail.Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals.Knowledge of medical chart reporting / records, medical terminology, and insurance practices.Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word, and Internet use.Skills in handling incoming phone calls and triaging appropriately.Ability to work effectively as a team member with physicians and other staff.Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.Ability to flexibly respond to changing demands.Full-Time Employee Benefits :
