This large corporation is in need of an experienced Chemist III who has 4 - 6yrs experience. The chemist independently conducts research, analysis and experimentation to develop ink, paint, and other chemical product formulations. This is a hands-on position with significant time spent at the lab bench along with associated administrative duties related to product development. This position also interacts with personnel in quality control, manufacturing, product management and sales to support the existing product lines. This position is open due to our Chemist retiring. The hours are 8 : 00 am to 5 : 00 pm, but are flexible. Monday through Friday. We offer full benefits, including Health, dental, vision, LT / ST disability and a 401K..

We would prefer someone who has worked as a Chemist at the following companies :   Sun Chemical, INX, Dykem, Sanford, PPG, Sherwin Williams or any other paint company.

Essential Duties include :

• Invent and Development of new products
• Modify and upgrade existing products
• Obtain all goals and objectives- collaborating with other departments
• 4 to 7 years experience in ink, paint or coating development
• Selection of new ingredients for product development
• Decide on direction that research will take
• Select manufacturing methods for new products
• Decide on appropriate processing and quality control parameters
• Scale up new products to production size in conjunction with the manufacturing team
• Develops formulas, processes, and methods for solution of technical problems
• Analyzes organic and inorganic compounds to determine chemical and physical properties
• Prepares reports, writes technical papers and gives technical presentations as appropriate
• Manage development projects and establishing and adhering to timelines, communication of progress
• Master’s degree or Bachelor's degree with equivalent experience
• Equipment : Lab mixers and hot plates, Microscope, Ovens and environmental cabinets, Viscometers, pH meters, Color spectrophotometer, Solids / Moisture balance
• Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Suite Software. Experience with MS Project Management Software desirable.
