Job Title : Asset Manager
Position Summary
The Financial Asset Manager is responsible for maximizing the value and performance of the company’s real estate portfolio. This role oversees property operations, financial performance, capital planning, and strategic initiatives to ensure assets meet ownership objectives. The Asset Manager works closely with property management teams, investors, and other stakeholders to implement strategies that drive revenue growth, cost efficiency, and long-term asset value. This position is in office 5 days a week.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic business plans for each asset, aligned with ownership and investment objectives.
- Monitor property performance, including occupancy, rent growth, expenses, leasing activity, and capital projects.
- Review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports; identify variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Partner with property management teams to optimize day-to-day operations and resident / tenant satisfaction.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes for assigned assets.
- Oversee capital improvement planning, renovation projects, and value-add strategies.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform rent pricing, leasing strategies, and repositioning opportunities.
- Prepare investor reports, presentations, and updates on portfolio performance.
- Collaborate with acquisitions, dispositions, and finance teams on underwriting, due diligence, and transaction support.
- Ensure compliance with lender requirements, regulatory obligations, and company policies.
- Identify risks and opportunities to maximize asset value and returns.
- Monitor and analyze the financial performance of the portfolio, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Drive the creation of business plans aimed at increasing returns on investment.
- Collaborate with leasing teams to negotiate lease renewals, new leases, and rent increases in line with market trends and company goals.
- Stay abreast of market trends, competitor activity, and economic factors that impact multi-family real estate investments.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve property performance, including rent optimization, operational cost management, and capital improvement planning.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business Administration, or related field (MBA or professional certification preferred).3–7 years of experience in asset management, property management, real estate investment, or related field preferred.Strong financial modeling, analysis, and reporting skills.Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management abilities.Knowledge of property operations, leasing, and capital project management.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Yardi, or similar financial / real estate software.Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Core Competencies
