Program Director EPMO
The Program Director EPMO is a senior leader within the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office responsible for ensuring the successful execution of enterprise programs and projects aligned with strategic priorities. Reporting to the Executive Director of the Transformation Management Office within the Office of Strategic Advancement, the Program Director partners in a dyad relationship with the Portfolio Director to translate strategy into action through disciplined delivery and cross-functional coordination. This role serves as the central point of accountability for program delivery, risk and issue management, and benefits realization. The Program Director works collaboratively with operational, clinical, and functional leaders to ensure that prioritized initiatives are delivered effectivelyon time, within scope and budget, and with measurable outcomes that drive enterprise value.
Program Execution & Delivery Oversight
- Lead the execution of large, cross-functional enterprise programs aligned with strategic objectives.
- Ensure adherence to approved scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards across all program components.
- Establish consistent program management practices, methodologies, and tools across the EPMO.
- Track and report progress toward defined outcomes and key performance indicators.
Risk, Issue & Change Management
Proactively identify and mitigate risks and issues that may affect program delivery or outcomes.Ensure change control processes are applied consistently and transparently across projects.Support program sponsors and project managers in navigating complexity and removing execution barriers.Resource Coordination & Alignment
Collaborate with Portfolio Director to align program resource requirements with enterprise capacity planning.Partner with functional and operational leaders to assign and coordinate appropriate project teams.Ensure efficient and effective use of internal and external resources to meet program demands.Leadership & Coaching
Provide direction and support to Project Managers and Program Managers responsible for execution.Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement across delivery teams.Responsible for the EPMO Center of Excellence to deploy program and project management standards of practice.Mentor staff in project management discipline, leadership development, and stakeholder engagement.Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
Serve as the primary liaison for executive sponsors, operational leaders, and delivery teams for in-flight programs.Provide regular program status updates, insights, and escalations to governance boards and senior leadership.Translate complex program updates into executive-level communication that drives understanding and alignment.Education :
Required : Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, healthcare administration, or related field of study.Preferred : Master's degree, preferred in business, engineering, healthcare administration, or related field of study.Experience :
Required : Minimum of 7 years of experience in a healthcare, business, or operational leadership role.At least 5 years of experience managing complex programs with cross-functional scope and enterprise impact.Demonstrated experience delivering strategic initiatives through structured program and project management methods.Proven ability to lead teams through ambiguity, organizational change, and tight timelines.Experience working within a matrixed organization and driving alignment across multiple stakeholdersLicensure / Certification / Registry / Listing :
Required : Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or Agile Scrum Master CertificationPreferred : Program Management Professional (PgMP) Certification, Agile Product Owner Certification, Lean Certification, Six Sigma CertificationKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
