Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

POSITION SUMMARY : The C.N.A assists licensed nursing staff in performing a variety of duties in caring for the residents in the facility. The C.N.A. is expected to have knowledge of policies and procedures for providing bedside and out of bed care. REPORTS TO : Unit Director / Charge Nurse RESPONSIBILITES : General :

• Attends beginning of shift report to be aware of the condition of residents on assigned unit.
• Make preliminary rounds to assess specific assignment.
• Confers with the Charge Nurse for clarity of assignment, as needed.
• Keep confidential all knowledge of resident’s problem and / or condition.
• Administers care in accordance with policies.
• Escorts residents to clinic and physicians office outside the facility when assigned.
• Complete accountability records as per facility policy
• Offer suggestions to the charge nurse that in your opinion will upgrade the quality of care, and participate in overall patient care planning
