Labor & Delivery RN Job Details Job Title : Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) Location : Upper Marlboro, Maryland 20774 (Prince George's County) Assignment Type : Travel Nursing Job Contract Duration : 18 weeks Start Date : November 3, 2025 End Date : March 9, 2026 Shift : Nights, 3x12-hour shifts / week (19 : 30 - 08 : 00) Hours per Week : 36 Estimated Weekly Pay : $1,970 - $2,110 Self-Scheduling : Yes Weekend / Holiday Coverage : Every other weekend & scheduled holidays (one major holiday off may be requested) Patient Ratio : 1 : 3 Floating : Required within Labor & Delivery specialty On-Call : Not required Flu Vaccine : Required (no exemptions) Labor & Delivery RN Qualifications Active Maryland or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be active at time of application) Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (2 years preferred) Previous travel nursing experience required (no first-time travelers) BLS (AHA), NRP (AAP or NRP), and STABLE certifications required Experience with Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system preferred Ability to float within Labor & Delivery and related hospital specialty units Two professional references from recent employers (one supervisor / manager, one charge RN) Must reside at least 50 miles from the healthcare facility Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients, neonates, and infants Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections (C-sections), and C-section recovery Administer medications and therapies including Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, insulin drips, and blood products Perform sterile vaginal exams, triage obstetrical patients, and manage pain interventions Utilize EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring), infusion pumps, and maintain central lines (CVC / PICC) Implement isolation precautions and appropriate PPE as needed Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams : respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and social services Float to other Labor & Delivery units within the hospital as required Maintain accurate clinical documentation using the Epic EMR system Take the next step in your nursing journey—join our healthcare team in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, and make a meaningful impact for mothers and newborns.
