Lead Maintenance
To plan, organize, and coordinate the activities of assigned crews performing a variety of maintenance jobs including asphalt paving, chain link fence and playground equipment installation and repair, and cartage and to identify maintenance needs in assigned areas of responsibility. Receives general supervision from the Maintenance Crew Supervisor. Exercises functional and technical supervision over assigned staff, including skilled and semi-skilled positions.
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following :
Four (4) years fulltime paid experience performing asphalting operations or chain link fence installation. High school graduation or the equivalent. (Substitution : Four (4) years of employment with the San Bernardino City Unified School District as a Heavy Equipment Operator, Equipment Operator, or Truck and Equipment Operator may be substituted for the required four years of experience.) An appropriate, valid California driver's license. A valid Certified Playground Safety Inspector Certificate or the ability to obtain the certification during the first twelve months of employment. Must be presented upon offer of employment and maintained throughout employment in this classification. Certification must be maintained throughout employment in this position.
