The Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) Finance, Technology, & Analytics Administration (FTAA) is seeking a Journey IT Systems Administrator to deliver reliable, professional IT services that support the mission of transforming lives across Washington State.
This position is within the Division of Information Technology (DIT) and provides Systems Administration and Customer Support for field services in FTAA. It fulfills the needs of both FTAA and the Home and Community Living Administration (HCLA), and reports directly to the Regional IT Manager within DIT.
The duty station is the Moses Lake HCLA office, and this is an onsite role. The position also provides support for our Wenatchee and Omak offices. Applicants must live or relocate to within commuting distance of Moses Lake.
As a Journey IT Systems Administrator, you will provide technical services, tier-two application support, LAN management and security, mobile device management, cloud and print services support, and professional customer training. You will support a wide range of professionals—Case Managers, Social Workers, Nurses, Psychologists, Attorneys, Administrative and Customer Support Staff, and Executive Management—ensuring they can deliver critical services to Washington residents.
Some Of What You'll Do
- Design, build, and maintain physical and virtual servers, LAN / WAN components, and backup / restore routines.
- Monitor and secure network infrastructure, including servers, switches, mobile devices, and conferencing equipment.
- Deploy and manage workstations and mobile devices using Microsoft Configuration Manager, Intune, and PowerShell automation.
- Support and troubleshoot hardware, software, applications, printing, SharePoint, Teams, and cloud services.
- Configure and administer Cisco switches, IP assignments, LAN documentation, and disaster recovery processes.
- Provide onsite and remote technical support, delivering timely solutions to diverse staff across multiple offices.
- Train and mentor staff and customers, building technical knowledge and confidence with new tools and systems.
- Advise leadership on IT infrastructure improvements, performance metrics, and hardware upgrade needs.
What We Are Looking For
Professionals with a bachelor's degree including nine semester or 15 quarter hours of computer science courses AND four years of consultative, administrative, or supervisory experience in information technology analysis, system maintenance, or troubleshooting / problem resolution experience, or analyzing, designing or programming computer systems applications or databases.An associate's degree or completion of an accredited vocational training program in an information technology or related program AND six years of consultative, administrative, or supervisory experience in information technology analysis, system maintenance, or troubleshooting / problem resolution experience or analyzing, designing or programming computer systems applications or databases.Eight years Information Technology experience. Consultative, administrative or supervisory experience in information technology analysis, system maintenance, or troubleshooting / problem resolution experience, or analyzing, designing, or programming computer systems applications or databases will substitute for education on the basis of year for year of experience.Preferred Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
IT Service Management (ITSM) & ITIL – Strong understanding of ITIL practices and service management frameworks.Code Management & Deployment – Experience supporting code versioning, deployment pipelines, and release processes.Mainframe Expertise – Hands-on experience with DB2 and CICS.Tool Proficiency – Familiarity with industry tools including JIRA, ServiceNow, GitHub, Jenkins, ISPF / TSO, Job / Scan, Assist / GT, SCLM, and OPC.Dependability & Accountability – Demonstrated ability to take ownership of tasks, deliver quality results, and meet deadlines with minimal oversight.Judgment & Problem Solving – Skilled in analyzing complex issues, adapting to changing environments, and applying creative solutions.Communication – Ability to clearly explain technical issues and solutions to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.Quality Management – Knowledge of quality assurance principles, methodologies, and best practices.Project Management – Familiarity with project management concepts, tools, and practices.To be considered for this opportunity please include the following :
