General Foreman
PAR Electrical Contractors is seeking a General Foreman with a minimum of 10 years' experience in electrical construction of substations. The General Foreman will oversee operations and supervise the progress of the entire substation project. The General Foreman will communicate with management, and hire or appoint individual Foremen to ensure that the work meets quality expectations and deadlines.
Essential Job Skills / Duties :
- Oversee the planning and execution of medium / large electrical substation projects, and supervise the overall progress
- Install, repair and maintain electrical systems, conductors, power lines and electrical equipment
- Review job specifications, building and safety codes, and project timelines
- Obtain all of the necessary licenses, permits, and materials for the job
- Ensure all work meets local, state, and federal codes
- Manage contract documents and specifications for projects
- Produce and prepare sketches, operational diagrams, and layout drawings for projects
- Stay up-to-date on current safety protocols and updates
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise the work of skilled journey-level workers
- Establish high-quality work practices, and monitor working conditions
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure all the required supplies, materials and equipment are available and working as intended
- Ensure job quality, and identify potential safety risks
- Report all accidents, injuries, near misses to the Safety Department
- Review project schedule weekly and note any delays, changes or deficiencies to Project Management team
- Work with the entire team to look for solutions to problems, and mentor crew foreman to do the same
- Generate progress reports, and relay information to the Superintendent
- Conduct data collection and complete all paperwork in a timely manner
- Assist with the electrical work when needed
- Liaise with customers, suppliers and third parties as necessary
- Work a minimum of 40 hours a week on a regular basis.

Qualifications :
Knowledge and understanding of electrical plans and proper electrical wiring proceduresProficiency in the use and maintenance of hand and power tools, test equipment, and precision measuringKnowledge of safety measures and best practices for a safe work environmentAbility to read and interpret maps, instructional manuals, specifications, blueprints, schematics, and written instructions for projectsSuccessful prior experience supervising crews and completing electrical substation projectsExcellent attention to detail, with the ability to multi-taskGreat operational planning and time management skillsStrong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate othersExcellent verbal and written communication skillsGeneral computer skills (email, Microsoft Office)Required Education and Experience
