Learning And Development Specialist

In this role, you will identify development needs through assessments and performance data, integrate guided tools into daily workflows to support real-time learning, and curate and develop on-demand resources to build field advisor and operations partner confidence and skill. You will also design structured learning programs and event-based training experiences that drive measurable growth, partnering closely with business and technology teams to ensure learning is accessible, relevant, and actionable.

Key Responsibilities

Confirm the Need

Collaborate with leaders and subject matter experts to identify field development needs through assessments, performance data, and interviews.

Use diagnostic tools to tailor learning that meets the field where they are in their journey.

Learn in the Flow of Work

Integrate guided learning tools into workflows to support real-time skill development.

Partner with technology teams to ensure seamless access to learning resources within daily field systems.

Directed / On-Demand Learning

Curate and manage a library of on-demand learning assets including videos, eLearning modules, and reference guides.

Design knowledge checks and recommend next actions to reinforce learning and build confidence.

Turn Knowledge into Growth

Lead the design of structured learning programs such as the Organic Growth Experience and CRM Directed Learning.

Partner with Business Development teams to design weekly assignments, coaching calls, SME access, and proficiency checks to drive measurable growth.

Events & Engagement

Plan and design interactive training breakouts at field conferences and workshops (e.g., AFG Spring Workshops, Women Advisor Summit).

Design pre-, during-, and post-event learning engagements to maximize skill-building and action-taking.

Required Qualifications

5-7 years of experience in training, learning & development

Preferred Qualifications

Proven ability to design and deliver adult learning experiences aligned to business outcomes

Familiarity with digital learning platforms and tools (e.g., LXP, Whatfix, Articulate)

Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills

Experience in financial services or advisor development

Knowledge of instructional design principles and multi-modal learning strategies

Certification in coaching, training, or instructional design (e.g., CPTD, ATD)

Familiarity with CRM systems and advisor workflow tools

The estimated base salary for this role is $91,600 - $123,700 / year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and / or long-term incentives depending on the role.
