Jacobs is seeking a full-time Instrument and Control Technician for a large water treatment facility. This position performs inspection, maintenance, and repair of equipment control circuits, including electrical, electronic, pneumatic systems, and signal devices.
The facility is a 100-mgd treatment plant process that includes submerged membrane filtration, ozone disinfection, and biological activated carbon to meet strict water quality standards for the San Diego metropolitan area.
Responsibilities
- Interprets and works from blueprints, drawings, sketches, plans, and technical documents
- Maintains record keeping associated with all electrical repairs and modifications
- Follows oral and written instructions
- Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with those contacted during work
- Performs calibration and repair of process metering devices
- Recommends control system modifications to standardize utilization of parts and materials and reduce operating and repair costs
- Establishes and enforces uniform electrical repair safety procedures at the plant site
- Makes modifications to as-built electrical drawings based on system modifications and updates all electrical component equipment history files
- Creates work orders using MAXIMO CMMS software package and tracks work performed and inventory used
- Configures new computers and installs necessary software packages for PLC programming and HMI / SCADA monitoring and control
- Experienced with Allen Bradley PLC's, Wonderware Controls Software, and Devicenet Control Systems
Requirements
Associate's degreeValid California Driver's LicenseHigh School Diploma or GEDIdeally, you'll also have
Two years' experience dealing with maintenance, repair, and calibration of electrical control systems in a water or wastewater facilityKnowledge of methods, materials, equipment, and instruments used in maintenance, repair, and calibration of electrical and electronic control systemsDemonstrated knowledge in MAXIMO CMMS, SCADA, Windows, Allen Bradley PLC's, Wonderware, and DevicenetDesign and implement networking schemes and understand IP network architecturesKnowledge of principles and practices of an effective control system preventive maintenance programKnowledge of standard safety principles and related state and federal laws and regulationsJacobs offers a competitive salary range of $86,700.00 to $112,700.00 per year, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance, 401(k) plan, paid time off, and seven paid holidays.
