Jacobs is seeking a full-time Instrument and Control Technician for a large water treatment facility. This position performs inspection, maintenance, and repair of equipment control circuits, including electrical, electronic, pneumatic systems, and signal devices.

The facility is a 100-mgd treatment plant process that includes submerged membrane filtration, ozone disinfection, and biological activated carbon to meet strict water quality standards for the San Diego metropolitan area.

Responsibilities

• Interprets and works from blueprints, drawings, sketches, plans, and technical documents
• Maintains record keeping associated with all electrical repairs and modifications
• Follows oral and written instructions
• Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with those contacted during work
• Performs calibration and repair of process metering devices
• Recommends control system modifications to standardize utilization of parts and materials and reduce operating and repair costs
• Establishes and enforces uniform electrical repair safety procedures at the plant site
• Makes modifications to as-built electrical drawings based on system modifications and updates all electrical component equipment history files
• Creates work orders using MAXIMO CMMS software package and tracks work performed and inventory used
• Configures new computers and installs necessary software packages for PLC programming and HMI / SCADA monitoring and control
• Experienced with Allen Bradley PLC's, Wonderware Controls Software, and Devicenet Control Systems
