ERP Quality Assurance Testing Director
The One Washington (OneWA) Program is modernizing and integrating the state's core enterprise finance, procurement, budget, human capital management, and payroll functions and how these integrate with people and systems among all state government entities.
This ERP Quality Assurance Testing Director is a workstream leader who supports the mission of OneWA by operating with a blend of strategic leadership, technical, and interpersonal team management to champion quality assurance testing throughout the project's product and service development lifecycle within scope, on schedule and in budget. This critical and transformational role is responsible for leading and overseeing the quality assurance testing functions of our complex and many applications to integrate into the Workday system. This includes implementing and adapting quality assurance testing frameworks, planning and executing (release) testing approaches, set up of test automation, as well as all other important testing-related activities. This role understands the Workday ERP landscape, best practice testing methodologies, and the regulatory requirements applicable to the public sector. This leadership role serves as a critical liaison between business, functional, IT, Readiness, QA, implementation partners and regulatory stakeholders to ensure quality assurance testing meets all compliance standards and delivers a complete product in scope, on schedule and budget for our Phase 1A go-live, as when as other additional phases being planned.
Strategic Planning & Risk Mitigation :
- Develop and align a holistic QA testing objectives with business goals following scope, schedule and budget, as well as OneWA's strategic plan, mission and values. Support team in adjusting to changing priorities and requirements.
- Oversight of the QA Testing team to execute deliverables to the short and long-term quality assurance policies and plans informed by business decisions based on available data, and utilizing a deep understanding of various QA methodologies like Agile, Waterfall, DevOps, etc.
- Create and execute comprehensive roadmaps that clearly define pathways to quality solutions
- Develop and execute the end-to-end test strategy and master test plan across multiple workstreams and phases to oversee testing activities including UAT, Authorization, End-to-End and Regression Testing.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements to include accessibility for end-users (e.g., GxP, ISO, SOX, IT Security, GDPR) throughout the testing lifecycle
- Develop, refine and optimize quality assurance testing processes and standards establishing a Testing Governance Framework through oversight and direction of team, implement best practices for testing and quality assurance. Identify inefficiencies in current QA practices. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in QA.
- Utilize advanced testing techniques such a functional, non-functional, performance, security and other testing types. Evaluate and adopt new testing tools and technologies, if / when necessary.
- Encourage the use of automation when appropriate and continuous testing practices.
- Creation and maintenance of dedicated test tenant and test data by both proactively and reactively assess potential risks associated with product quality and releases.
- Proactively develop risk mitigation strategies to identify and resolve complex quality issues to minimize the risk of defects.
Leadership & Team Management :

Communicate with stakeholders about quality assurance testing strategy and the related business decisions, at all levels utilizing various communication tactics, means, and platforms. Ability to successfully negotiate with stakeholders and teams to drive to strategic outcomes while maintaining critical relationships.Collaborate with business analysts, developers, project managers, and other stakeholder to define quality requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.Participate in cross-functional meetings and initiatives to communicate quality objectives, progress, and issues to various stakeholders, including senior management, employees, and external partners.Gather customer feedback on quality and performance.Ensure that products meet or exceed customer expectations.Implement changes based on customer insights to improve quality.IT Compliance, Governance & Standards :
Implement quality assurance standards and processes.Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements, particularly WaTech Technology Policies, Standards, and Procedures Policy POL-01 for IT project complianceConduct audits and assessments to maintain compliance.Quality Metrics & Reporting :
