About The Position

Job Title : Lead Medical Laboratory Scientist

Profession : Medical Laboratory

Specialty : Medical Technologist

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday

Hours per Shift : 6 AM to 5 PM

Experience : Minimum of three years as a generalist in clinical high complexity testing in a clinical laboratory

License : Current, unexpired Medical Laboratory Science, Technologist or Specialist certification from a nationally recognized certification agency

Certifications : National certification in Medical Laboratory Science

Must-Have :

• Bachelor’s degree in laboratory, biological, chemical or physical science, Healthcare or Healthcare Management related field

Description :

The Lead Medical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for overseeing assigned laboratory sections.

Responsibilities include performing specimen processing, test performance, and reporting test results.

All activities must comply with regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures.

The goal is to ensure quality patient care.

The laboratory provides sub-specialties including chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, phlebotomy, blood bank, microbiology, and clinical microscopy.

This position requires working in a laboratory that provides 24-hour coverage.

Incumbents will work rotational shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

The initial training involves bench technologist functions before being assigned to lead duties in specific sections.
