Small Business Focus Tax Supervisor
Beech Valley Solution is assisting our client, a Top 100 CPA firm in the US, with their search for a Small Business Focus Tax Supervisor. The Small Business Focus Tax Supervisor will oversee tax planning, compliance, and strategy for a portfolio of small business clients. A portion of the client base will be in the dental, medical, and veterinary industries. This is a permanent (W-2) opportunity with an ASAP start date. The work can be done remotely but candidates need to be in one of their Ohio locations or in the Gilbert / Phoenix area to be able to occasionally go on site to work with a manager.
This role requires a strong focus on relationship management, acting as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their tax concerns, and providing proactive tax advice tailored to their specific needs. The Tax Manager will review tax returns, ensure clients are compliant with tax regulations, and identify opportunities for tax savings. A key part of the role will involve building and maintaining long-term relationships with clients, offering personalized guidance, and ensuring exceptional service delivery. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential, ability to review basic bookkeeping work, along with a deep understanding of small business tax laws and strategies.
Candidate Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or other relevant field required
- Masters degree in Accounting / Taxation ideal
- 4 5 years of prior experience in taxation
- Prior supervisory experience
- CPA certification
Role & Responsibilities :
Tax Compliance
Ensures both that (a) clients comply with all applicable authorities, while at the same time minimizing their tax and reporting burdens, and (b) self and client service teams comply with all Firm policies, standards, and the Rea's tax quality control policiesConducts top level review of T / R and resolves all tax issues with client; involves specialists where appropriateCommunicates with clients and Assurance any issues identified in tax accrual reviewsPlans and reviews the tax process and the procedures to be performed to include :Budgeting and staffingMonitoring engagement process and actual time incurred vs. budget with assistance of SeniorTimely billing including management of identified out-of-scope activity and communication to clientTimely collection of A / RManages client relationships / expectations in accordance with the projectProvides advice to clients in a timely mannerResearch
