Butte location preferred; will consider other major office locations in Montana (Billings, Bozeman, Great Falls, Helena or Missoula) for the right candidate.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
  • Must have a B.S. in Engineering; experienced and upcoming December 2025 graduates encouraged to apply
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good working knowledge of utility operation maintenance activities
  • First aid / CPR certification preferred
  • Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record

Duties

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and establish tools for central maintenance programs
  • Collect data, analyze and provide recommendations based on department needs
  • Create, issue and evaluate Request for Proposals for contract resources to perform maintenance activities
  • Initiate and review contracts and ensure NorthWestern Energy project interests and specifications are appropriately represented prior to contract execution
  • Plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of business processes and procedures based on company requirements
  • Develop schedule, cost, and scope controls to monitor contractor performance against annual goals
  • Lead special projects and utilize change and project management techniques as required
  • Assist in developing and managing capital expense budgets
  • Travel to job sites, off-site meetings, and up to 25% travel per year including overnight stays when necessary

  • Full-time position.

    $72,000 to $112,700 per year, depending on experience.
