Butte location preferred; will consider other major office locations in Montana (Billings, Bozeman, Great Falls, Helena or Missoula) for the right candidate.

Qualifications

Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
Must have a B.S. in Engineering; experienced and upcoming December 2025 graduates encouraged to apply
Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Good working knowledge of utility operation maintenance activities
First aid / CPR certification preferred
Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record

Duties

Evaluate emerging technologies and establish tools for central maintenance programs

Collect data, analyze and provide recommendations based on department needs

Create, issue and evaluate Request for Proposals for contract resources to perform maintenance activities

Initiate and review contracts and ensure NorthWestern Energy project interests and specifications are appropriately represented prior to contract execution

Plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of business processes and procedures based on company requirements

Develop schedule, cost, and scope controls to monitor contractor performance against annual goals

Lead special projects and utilize change and project management techniques as required

Assist in developing and managing capital expense budgets

Travel to job sites, off-site meetings, and up to 25% travel per year including overnight stays when necessary

Full-time position.

$72,000 to $112,700 per year, depending on experience.
