About The Position

Job Title : Float Pool Registered Nurse

License : Current nursing license required

Certifications : ACLS, BLS

Must-Have :

• EPIC experience
• Local candidates within 20-50 miles preferred
• No first-time travelers for float pool
• Prior float experience preferred

Description :

This role involves working in a float pool setting.

The nurse will be expected to cover multiple units, including medical surgical.

Common patient diagnoses include acute surgical, orthopedic, neurological, and various medical conditions.

Patient-nurse ratios in the medical surgical setting typically range from 1 : 5 to 1 : 6.

In the intermediate care unit, the ratio is 1 : 5.

The nurse is responsible for managing a full patient assignment and is supported by licensed practical nurses.

Charge nurses are responsible for unit oversight during the day and may take patients on nights and weekends.

There will be consultation with respiratory therapy as needed for treatments.

Telemonitoring is available, and staff will verify telemetry readings.

Weekend and holiday shifts are required on an every-other-week basis.

Nurses will receive assignments no more than one hour before their shift begins.

Scrubs should be in the specified color for the department.

A brief unit-specific orientation will be provided.
