While an interdisciplinary care team provides medical care to patients in long-term care facilities, you will have the opportunity to impact in a positive way the life and wellbeing of the elderly population.\n\nWe are currently seeking Wound Care Nurse Practitioners to provide wound services to patients living in long-term care facilities.\n\nWOUND NP ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES : \n

• Provide wound care services for long-term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities.\n
• Prescribe appropriate medications, including controlled substances in accordance with WV Law.\n
• Order, review, and / or follow-up with treatments and diagnostic testing.\n
• Communicate with the nursing home staff on a regular and as needed to discuss changes in condition.\n
• and / or the care plan.\n
• Collaborate with the primary care physician.\n\nWound Np Qualifications And Education Requirements\n
• Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of West Virginia.\n
• Board Certification.\n
• DEA licensure (Optional)\n
• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.\n
• Clinical background of wound care; including but not limited to chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds\n
• Must be comfortable with diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers.\n
• Must be comfortable staging pressure injuries according to the NPIAP\n
• Must be familiar with wound care best practice and advanced wound care products; collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc.\n
• Must have experience with wound vacs and other DME, such as pressure relieving / reducing devices\n
• Strong preference to having wound certification or be open to getting certified\n
• Experience working in a long-term care setting.\n
• Ability to work with an EMR.\n
• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care\n\nNp Benefits\n
