Software Engineer II
This position will be hybrid out of Springfield, IL or Plano, TX. Software Engineer II, you will contribute to the design, development, testing, and deployment of proprietary software applications while leveraging modern development tools to enhance efficiency. Additionally, you will utilize AI-assisted development tools to streamline coding, automate repetitive tasks, and improve code quality. This position is ideal for a technically skilled, growth-oriented engineer who enjoys collaborating within a team, solving problems, and learning modern software development methodologies.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and maintain C#, .NET Core / .NET 6, SQL and Rest API based applications, leveraging AI-powered coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex) to enhance productivity.
- Participate in the design, documentation, testing, and debugging of applications while ensuring best coding practices.
- Experience with Hangfire and background processing.
- Experience in database performance tuning and query optimization, especially for batch processing.
- Hands-on experience with Entity Framework Core
- Familiarity with unit testing frameworks (xUnit, NUnit, MSTest).
- Knowledge of CI / CD pipelines (Azure DevOps).
Collaboration & Business Integration :
Work closely with senior engineers, business users, and cross-functional teams to understand technical requirements and user needs.Contribute to the development and implementation of new features and functionality, as well as enhancements and optimizations for existing applications.Provide technical support and troubleshooting, working with the team to resolve application issues.Participate in discussions to determine business value-driven priorities for development efforts.Continuous Learning & Mentorship :
Stay current with emerging technologies, AI-powered development tools, and modern engineering practices.Learn from senior engineers while also collaborating with and supporting junior developers.Contribute to team discussions on modern software architecture, DevOps automation, and AI-driven development.Qualifications :
Education & Experience :
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).3+ years of experience in software development with C#, .NET Core, and SQL.Experience working on complex assignments and supporting legacy and modern environments.Exposure to AI-assisted coding tools (GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex, Tabnine) preferred.Basic experience with cloud computing (Azure, AWS, or GCP)Experience with developing integration testsUnderstanding of the Domain-Driven Design (DDD) approachExperience analyzing and optimizing algorithms and system functionsKnowledge of asynchronous programming and multithreading in .NET.Understanding of security best practices (OAuth2, JWT, data protection, OWASP).Experience with monitoring and logging (e.g. : Serilog, ELK stack, Application Insights).Soft Skills & Competencies :

$71,500.00 - $105,400.00 Salary is commensurate to experience, location, etc.
