Mechanical Design Engineer - Structural Steel

This permanent, full-time Mechanical Design Engineer position in Structural Steel is based at a stable, innovative manufacturing facility in Caledonia, Wisconsin. The company thrives on a diverse workload sourced both privately and from government contracts, maintaining stability even through economic downturns, including the Great Recession and COVID-19. Salary : $70,000.00 - $86,500.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Managing and overseeing several engineering projects from inception to completion.
  • Ensuring that all engineering projects adhere to timelines and specifications.
  • Designing unique mechanical solutions for metal products, considering both functionality and innovation.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to enhance product designs and applications.
  • Mentoring and providing technical guidance to junior engineers and design team members.
  • Utilizing advanced design technologies and methodologies to improve efficiency and outcomes.

Minimum Position Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of two years experience in mechanical design engineering.
  • Proven experience in structural metal product design.
  • Hands-on experience with metal product fabrication processes.
  • Proficient in using AutoCAD and 3D design software for design tasks.
  • Adept in both electrical systems and mechanical systems functionalities.
  • Strong work history showcasing dedication and career growth.
  • Reside within a 45-minute commute to the workplace in Caledonia, Wisconsin.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US as a citizen or green card holder.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Advanced degree or certifications relevant to mechanical or structural engineering.
  • Prior leadership or project management experience in engineering projects is highly desirable.
  • Experience in government contracting projects or related work is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Experience in sustainable and environmentally conscious design practices.
