Assistant Daycare Teacher

Position Summary

At Ark Academy, our Assistant Teachers play a vital role in supporting a nurturing, faith-based classroom environment where every child feels safe, loved, and encouraged to grow. Working under the guidance of a Lead Teacher, this position involves helping with daily routines, implementing lesson plans, and creating joyful learning experiences for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years.

Location : Ark Academy, Sioux Falls, SD

Reports to : Lead Teacher / Center Director

Position Type : Full-time / Part-time

Start Date : August 2025

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; early childhood education coursework or experience preferred.
• Must meet South Dakota licensing standards for Assistant Teacher roles.
• Previous experience in a childcare or early learning setting is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively and take direction.
• Patience, warmth, and a love for working with children.
• CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days).
• Must pass background check and meet state childcare center requirements.
