The NC Pre-K Lead teacher assumes primary role in designing and implementing activity plans, record-keeping, care and supervision of children in the classroom, communicating with parents and administrative staff, and delegates appropriate duties and responsibilities to the teacher’s assistant.

What you'll be doing :

• Writes and implements daily / weekly lesson plans for children in classroom that are developmentally appropriate for the children in care.
• Ensures that children’s physical, emotional, and educational needs are met through close visual supervision and observation of group and one-on-one interactions with individual children.
• Assists the Director in devising service plans for children with special needs.
• Ensures that necessary classroom records / documents are kept current, organized, and on file.
• Communicates with administrative staff to ensure that licensing, safety, and sanitation standards are maintained in the classroom.
• Provides leadership by acting as positive, motivating role model for teacher and teacher’s assistant and creates professional climate for carrying out the daily operations of the classroom.

Requirements :

Bachelor's Degree preferred. Minimum of completion of Early Childhood Credential I and II plus completion of or currently enrolled in 9 additional credit hours in Child Development or related field from a community college or university.

Experience : At least one year working in a preschool classroom at a licensed center.

Skills / physical / working conditions : Must possess a valid North Carolina driver’s license and be insurable by Eliada’s insurance carriers. The position requires excellent verbal and writing skills for communicating effectively and professionally with co-workers, parents, and other visitors.
