- Unit : 5 North Med Surg / Ortho Unit (31 beds)\n
- Position Type : Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Orthopedic / Med Surg\n
- Shift : 12-hour days (7a-7p)\n
- Hours : 36 guaranteed hours per week\n
- Estimated Weekly Pay : $1570–$1680 per week\n
- Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 10 / 2025 – End : 2 / 9 / 2026)\n
- Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend or 2 weekends per month\n
- Holiday Requirement : Must work 2 of 3 upcoming holidays\n
- Dress Code : Solid color, professional scrubs\n
- EMR System : Epic\n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n
- Active RN license (Mississippi or compact state)\n
- BLS certification required\n
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center or large hospital with high acuity patients\n
- Proficient in managing lines, chest tubes, and post-op orthopedic patients\n
- Experience with medical-surgical and orthopedic nursing care\n
- Ability to float between med-surg units as needed\n
- Skilled in titrating heparin drips\n
- Fingerprinting required prior to start (remote or in-person options available)\n
- Medical exemption with provider note required for flu vaccine exemption\n\nOrthopedic RN Responsibilities\n
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to orthopedic and medical-surgical patients, including post-op total joints and general overflow\n
- Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 5 (may adjust for higher acuity)\n
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including respiratory therapists and central monitoring staff\n
- Monitor and respond to telemetry alerts from the central monitor station\n
- Float between units within your skillset as needed\n
- Participate in unit orientation and work with a preceptor for initial shifts\n
- Document patient care using Epic EMR\n
