American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2 years of experience, key certifications, and prior travel assignment experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the Labor & Delivery unit of a short-term acute care teaching hospitalDay shifts (3x12 hours), 7 : 00 to 19 : 30Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 2Call required : 24 hours over a 6-week period with 45-minute onsite response timeFloat required to similar units such as Mom / Baby, with travelers floating before permanent staffEvery other weekend and holiday coverage is required as neededSpecialized in high-risk labor and delivery casesCirculate, fetal heart monitoring, preceptor and / or charge nurse skills requiredExperience with Cerner EMR is requiredScrubs are provided by the facilityResponsible for providing comprehensive care to laboring patients, including high-risk pregnanciesParticipate in team-based care in a teaching hospital environment with multidisciplinary supportTravelers required to complete orientation modules before start and possibly during orientationHoliday coverage required as scheduledFirst time travelers are not eligible; at least one prior travel assignment neededScrub attire is facility-providedMust be able to respond on premises within 45 minutes for call shiftsAll requested time off (RTO) must be submitted in advance and limited to a maximum of 7 days over a 13-week contract\n \n Requirements\n
Active MD RN license or Compact RN license required at time of considerationMinimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience requiredAt least 1 prior travel nursing assignment requiredCertifications required : AWHONN Intermediate, ACLS, STABLE, NRP, BLSMust register for C-EFM within the first two weeks of assignment; C-EFM through NCC preferredExperience as a preceptor or charge nurse requiredStrong circulating and fetal heart monitoring skills requiredHigh-risk Labor & Delivery experience requiredTriage experience preferredMust provide 2 supervisor references from the past 2 yearsReturn staff must have at least 1 year between permanent employment and travel assignmentLocal candidates accepted if residing within 60 miles\n Benefits\n
