JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Accountant will oversee general accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls, while partnering closely with both operational and finance teams. This role requires working across multiple ERP systems and collaborating with business units in different locations to ensure accurate and timely financial results.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain the general ledger and subsidiary records in accordance with US GAAP.
- Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries, reconciliations, and support schedules.
- Deliver timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, while supporting consolidated reporting.
- Manage the month-end close process, including accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Support consolidated year-end audit preparation and serve as liaison with external auditors.
- Ensure consistency and alignment across entities during close cycles.
- Record and reconcile intercompany transactions across multiple business units.
- Ensure timely settlement of intercompany balances in compliance with company policy.
- Work across multiple ERP systems to ensure consistent financial reporting and reconciliations.
- Assist with Accounts Payable : process invoices, support vendor payments, and maintain proper controls.
- Assist with Accounts Receivable : post customer payments, monitor collections, and follow-up on outstanding balances.
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts.
- Provide financial analysis and variance explanations to budget, forecast, and prior periods.
- Prepare and file sales / use tax, property tax, and other regulatory filings.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors on compliance and filings across entities.
- Ensure effective internal controls and compliance with accounting policies.
- Partner with Inventory Control and Operations teams to monitor inventory variances and costing.
- Participate in physical inventory and cycle counts.
- Collaborate with multiple business units within PIP to align accounting practices and provide cross-functional financial support.
- Complete other ad hoc duties as required
CORE SKILLS / COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.3–5 years of progressive accounting experience.Experience with manufacturing, cost accounting, and / or inventory accounting are strongly preferred.Experience processing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions.Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with remote leadership.Ability to manage accounting across multiple business units and ERP systems.Strong knowledge of US GAAP and regulatory compliance.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Strong communication skills, with ability to present financial information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Hands-on, detail-oriented, and resourceful with a proactive approach to process improvement.Independent, collaborative, and adaptable team playerProtective Industrial Products (PIP) is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
