We are seeking Malay Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Malay, spoken across Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, and parts of Indonesia, is a strategic Southeast Asian language often needed for asylum, immigration, and refugee proceedings.
Responsibilities
Provide real-time Malay English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews, hearings, and official proceedings.Interpret with accuracy, impartiality, and professionalism in immigration and legal contexts.Maintain strict confidentiality in line with USCIS / DHS interpreter standards.Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent / surge interpretation requests.Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance reviews.Qualifications
Native or near-native fluency in Malay and English.2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, community, healthcare, legal, or government preferred).Strong understanding of interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural awareness.Excellent telephone communication skills; ability to remain accurate under pressure.Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3 / Tier 5 federal clearance.Compensation & Benefits
