The Radiology Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with physician orders and established protocols. This role involves operating radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment, ensuring patient safety, and producing high-quality diagnostic images for accurate interpretation.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine and specialized diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic imaging procedures according to physician orders and department protocols.
Operate and maintain mobile and stationary radiographic / fluoroscopic equipment safely and effectively.
Ensure proper patient positioning and technique to achieve optimal image quality while maintaining radiation safety standards.
Verify patient identification, review medical history, and explain procedures to patients to ensure comfort and cooperation.
Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely results.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation within the EMR (EPIC or equivalent) .
Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory compliance standards.
Qualifications (Legally Required)
Valid State Licensure and Fluoroscopy Permit Required (as applicable by state law)
Current BCLS (AHA) Required
Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited Radiologic Technology program Required
Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology Required
Proficient computer skills Required
One year of acute care clinical radiology experience Preferred
Knowledge of mobile and stationary radiographic / fluoroscopic equipment Required
Familiarity with State and Federal imaging regulations Required
