About The Position

Responsibilities and Duties
Provide comprehensive nursing care, including executing physician orders, administering medications, and performing patient examinations and treatmentsOrder, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess clinical problems and healthcare needsDocument physical findings, formulate prognoses, and collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop patient care plansRecommend appropriate medications and treatments within licensure scopeMonitor inpatient hospitalizations and facilitate early release when appropriateEnsure cleanliness and safety of work area and equipmentOversee the provision of required contractual healthcare servicesMaintain effective working relationships with facility staff, contract providers, and outside agenciesUtilize established corporate and facility policies while exercising independent judgmentEvaluate medical service provision to prevent unnecessary or duplicate servicesMaintain strict confidentiality and security of medical recordsMonitor and respond to potential catastrophic illnessesRecommend methods to improve operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness in health servicesAudit pharmacy use for compliance with formulary and pharmacy lawsObserve and document inmate / resident behaviorAccept on-call responsibilities as requiredProvide health counseling and education individually or in groupsInterpret and process medical, technical, and legal documents as neededSupport legal processes by reviewing charts and attending court hearings when necessaryCommunicate effectively with administration, staff, inmates / residents, and the public, maintaining diplomacy and sound judgmentAttend staff and committee meetings to promote communication and quality careWork in confined areas, including rotating shifts and physical security checksEvaluate and recommend physical safety requirements for patient and staff safetyAdditional Information
