As a Lead Electrical Designer , you will lead the design and documentation of lighting, power, and electrical systems, serving as a primary point of contact for your discipline. You will guide design decisions, oversee project staff, and ensure efficient, accurate, and coordinated construction documents. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical expertise, and provides mentorship while maintaining high drafting and documentation standards.
Key Responsibilities
Design Leadership & Technical Expertise
- Lead design decisions for lighting, power, and electrical systems.
- Develop complete, coordinated construction documents with accuracy and completeness.
- Write specifications and design narratives to support project deliverables.
- Perform facility assessments, systems studies, and reviews of others’ work.
- Establish consistent sheet and background setup while maintaining EP drafting standards.
- Provide expertise in lighting, power, and systems documentation.
Project Management & Client Engagement
Serve as the primary point of contact for your discipline on assigned projects.Assist owners in making informed lighting and systems decisions.Lead coordination meetings and system selection discussions with clients.Communicate project scope changes proactively and notify clients of major design challenges early.Plan workflow for projects.Mentorship & Team Development
Mentor and guide junior staff, supporting their growth and development.Redirect workflow of others and provide oversight through frequent reviews.Conduct quality assurance checks on project deliverables.Documentation & Quality Assurance
Apply company drafting standards consistently to all project documents.Ensure deliverables meet Emanuelson-Podas’ quality and accuracy standards.Complete all phases of the design process, from schematic development to construction documents.Professional Engagement
