On behalf of our client in the Inspection and Certification industry, Procom Services is looking for a System Engineer – Level 2. The candidate must have up-to-date knowledge of current and emerging technologies : Windows Server, Active Directory, and VMWare.
Systems Engineer – Level 2 Job Details
This position is responsible for maintaining a variety of wide area network based servers and systems in an enterprise environment daily.
Solution and monitor wide area network file and print servers for capacity, utilization, and performanceAdvanced system hardware / software troubleshooting as requiredSolution, install, implement, and support complex server platforms which may include SAN / NAS systemsArchitect and deploy data backup and recovery solutionsPerform data backup and recovery processes per disaster recovery and business continuity strategiesContribute to defining standard hardware requirementsCollaborate with internal and external customers to gather IT system requirements and deploy solutionsMaintain technical documentation of system / server inventory and specificationsPerform security audits following the company's IT security policyParticipate in asset management programsWork with IT service ticketing system to troubleshoot and resolve issuesWrite technical documentation as neededEnsure compliance with IT standards and change management processesStay updated on current technology trendsPerform other IT infrastructure tasks as requiredSystem Engineer – Level 2 Mandatory Skills
Associate's Degree in Information Technology or equivalent experienceExpertise with Microsoft Windows Server operating systemsExperience with VMWare ESXi or similar virtualization platformsBasic knowledge of core Microsoft Server Services (DNS, DHCP, WINS)Experience with server event monitoringExperience with HP Net-Server HardwareExperience with enterprise data archiving and restoration platformsExperience with remote support utilities (RDP, Terminal Services)Understanding of networking topologies and troubleshootingKnowledge of virtualization, clustering, and DR / BCP best practicesExposure to Symantec Endpoint Protection or similar antivirus solutionsUnderstanding of data center management techniquesKnowledge of SMS or similar Asset Management toolsSystems Engineer – Level 2 Nice to Have Skills
