Responsibilities Work in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) setting Handles critical care for patients aged birth to 18 years with diverse and complex conditions Night shift schedule : 4x12 hour shifts (19 : 00-07 : 00) Weekend shifts required every other weekend No call requirements Floating required to NICU, CVICU, or other areas as needed, with travelers first to float Uses Cerner EMR and experience is required First-time travelers are welcome to apply Maximum of 7 days of requested time off allowed, with holiday coverage required for at least two of the three major holidays Return staff must have at least one year separation before reapplying for travel positions Local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible for this travel position Completion of up to 8 hours of specialty modules during orientation is required Clinicians with Do Not Return (DNR) status from certain merged health systems will not be considered Requirements Active CA RN license required and must be in hand for consideration BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required Minimum 1.5 years of high acuity / high census PICU experience Ability to manage arterial lines, conscious sedation, CRRT, ECMO, and care for metabolic, respiratory, endocrinology, oncology, neurosurgical, level 1 trauma, and cardiology patients At least two supervisor-level references from the relevant unit within the past year or most recent employer Experience in reputable, high-volume, high-acuity facilities is expected Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-625533.
