About The Position

Job Title : Pediatric / PICU Registered Nurse

Profession : RN

Specialty : Pediatric / PICU

Duration : 20 weeks

Shift : 0300 - 1500

Hours per Shift : 12 hours

Experience : Minimum 2 years in Pediatrics and PICU

License : RN License (compact or state-specific)

Certifications : BLS through AHA, PALS through AHA

Must-Have :

• 2+ years of experience in both Pediatrics and PICU
• Experience in a facility with a minimum of 400 beds and L2 Trauma
• EPIC experience required

Description :

Care for pediatric patients aged 3 days to 18 years.

Responsible for managing common childhood illnesses, including COVID-positive patients.

Requires advanced knowledge and skills in pediatric nursing at all levels of care (Pediatric and PICU).

In the PICU, manage patients with respiratory issues, traumas, seizures, and poisonings.

Highly specialized cardiac cases will be transferred out.

In the Pediatric unit, handle trauma cases, respiratory issues, RSV, general surgical cases, and congenital birth defects.

Will float to units such as NICU as needed.

Utilize computerized charting and medication systems, specifically EPIC and Pyxis.

Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 4 in Pediatrics and 1 : 2 in PICU.

Dress code includes Caribbean blue scrubs.
