Full-Time School-Based Psychiatrist Muskegon, MI

Blazer Jobs is seeking an experienced Psychiatrist for a full-time contract position within a school district in Muskegon, MI. This school-based role offers the opportunity to provide vital mental health services to students while working collaboratively with families and educators to support academic and personal success. Bilingual candidates are strongly preferred in order to best serve the diverse student population.

Schedule : Standard school hours, with potential for contract renewal based on performance

Responsibilities

As a School-Based Psychiatrist, responsibilities may include :

Conducting psychiatric assessments and evaluations of students

Developing and implementing individualized treatment and intervention plans

Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and families to address student needs

Monitoring treatment progress and making adjustments as necessary

Providing crisis intervention and emergency support when needed

Documenting evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with district and state requirements

Participating in multidisciplinary meetings and contributing psychiatric expertise to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

Offering consultation and training to school staff regarding student mental health and behavioral needs

Qualifications

Must meet all Michigan state and local licensure / certification requirements to practice psychiatry

Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred

Experience supporting special education students and families is highly valued

Bilingual skills strongly preferred

Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills
