Buyer / Planner
The Buyer / Planner will be responsible for the purchasing, planning and inventory control in their assigned product line(s). The Buyer / Planner must demonstrate a consistent ability to achieve OTD / PD plant objectives and inventory levels.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Responsible for the day-to-day PO placement and maintenance, aligning materials to meet the production schedule
- Aligns supply chain to future customer demand
- Implementing a forward planning process to minimize purchase part shortages
- Implement best materials practices to improve efficiency
- Discuss defective or unacceptable goods with Supplier Quality and suppliers to determine source of trouble and take corrective action
- Serve as the first level of escalation for supply chain issues in the product line(s) they are supporting
- Assist in supplier negotiation efforts with the global sourcing team such as setting up long-term contracts and helping to align supplier commitments with production needs
- Lead calls with key suppliers to ensure they will be able to meet product line needs
- Support sourcing of new parts and PPV (Purchase Price Variance) / VAVE (Value Analysis Value Engineering) efforts in their product line to meet business goals
- Lead projects in their areas as designated by the Materials Manager
- Work to improve processes in their area(s) by making them more automated and efficient
- Assists in initiatives to help align materials team with company goals
- Track KPI's (Key Performance Indicators) and other metrics and reviews results with Materials Manager
- Perform other duties as assigned

BA / BS Degree in Materials, Supply Chain or Business Management or equivalent combination of experience and education.Five years of experience in purchasing, planning, or scheduling in a manufacturing environment.APICS or ISM (CPIM or CPM) certifications.Has consistently established a history of meeting or exceeding KPI targets.Physical Demand and Work Environment :
